1. Introduction

Welcome to Fit Wars, a fitness competition app for iOS that turns your daily workouts into friendly competitions with friends, family, and communities. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

By using Fit Wars, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Fit Wars integrates with Apple HealthKit to read your fitness data and automatically calculate competition scores. We take the privacy of your health data very seriously, and we comply fully with Apple's HealthKit guidelines and App Store Review Guidelines.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

• Apple ID (via Sign in with Apple)
• Name (only if you choose to share it during sign-in)
• Display name (chosen by you)
• Profile emoji (chosen by you)

2.2 Health & Fitness Data (via Apple HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, we read the following data types from Apple HealthKit:

• Steps
• Workouts
• Active minutes
• Calories burned
• Heart rate

2.3 User-Generated Content

• Manual workout logs
• League data (leagues you create or join)
• Challenge data (1v1 challenges)
• Trash talk messages (quick taunts and custom messages sent to other players)

2.4 Device Information

• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• Push notification token (via Apple Push Notification Service)

2.5 Advertising Data

If you use the free, ad-supported version of Fit Wars, Google AdMob may collect:

• Device advertising identifier (IDFA, subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice)
• General device information for ad serving
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

2.6 Contacts

If you choose to find friends via your phone contacts, we access your contact list locally on your device to match against existing Fit Wars users. Your contact data is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Calculating fitness scores for leagues, leaderboards, and challenges
• Displaying your profile to other users in leagues and challenges
• Sending push notifications (competition updates, challenge invitations, trash talk messages)
• Maintaining leaderboards, seasons, playoffs, and global events
• Delivering ads through Google AdMob (free version only)
• Improving app functionality, fixing bugs, and enhancing performance
• Preventing abuse and enforcing our Terms of Service

4. HealthKit Data

Apple HealthKit integration is central to how Fit Wars works. Here is exactly how we handle your health data:

How HealthKit data flows:

1. You grant Fit Wars read-only access to specific HealthKit data types (steps, workouts, active minutes, calories, heart rate).
2. Fit Wars reads this data on your device and calculates derived fitness scores (point values) based on your league's scoring rules.
3. Only the derived point scores are synced to Apple CloudKit so other players can see leaderboard standings.
4. Your raw health data (actual step counts, heart rate readings, etc.) stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

5. Advertising

Fit Wars displays banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers and general device information to serve relevant ads.

AdMob operates under Google's privacy policy. You can learn more about how Google uses information at policies.google.com/privacy.

Your choices regarding advertising:

• You can limit ad tracking through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
• When prompted by App Tracking Transparency, you can choose "Ask App Not to Track" to restrict ad personalization.
• You can remove all ads permanently by purchasing the ad-free upgrade for $4.99 within the app.
• HealthKit data is never shared with AdMob or used for ad targeting in any way.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following services, solely to provide app functionality:

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:

To delete your account:

1. Open Fit Wars and go to Settings.
2. Tap "Delete Account."
3. Confirm deletion.

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your user profile and account information
• All league memberships and associated scores
• All challenge history
• All trash talk messages you sent
• Your push notification token

Account deletion is irreversible. Some anonymized, aggregated data (such as total app-wide statistics) may be retained, but it will not be linked to your identity.

8. Children's Privacy

Fit Wars is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data (see Section 7 above).
• Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly used format.
• Revoke HealthKit Permissions: Go to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices on your device at any time.
• Opt Out of Ad Tracking: Use Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your device.
• Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent for any data processing at any time, though this may affect app functionality.
